Senate Passed Resolution
Honoring Home Educators of Washington
Eight senators described to legislators and the packed galleries the strengths, blessings, and “rich experiences” of homeschooling, the character & leadership qualities of homeschooled students who are “the future of our state”, and the sacrificial commitment & love of homeschooling parents for their children. The resolution, introduced by Sen. Val Stevens, passed unanimously!
Appreciation Plaques Given

Bills Favorable to Home Education Passed!
During Homeschool Day at the Capitol, two bills introduced early in the session by Christian Homeschool Network unanimously passed the Senate:
1) Exempting home educators’ Declaration of Intent Forms from public disclosure, and
2) Prohibiting the use of that information for advertising, marketing, or soliciting by government school at home programs to homeschoolers.
These have both passed in the House, also.
Grade ‘A’ Received for Our “Apple Pie Surprise”:
The day … “was definitely a success! It was, as I was told, “the talk of the capitol”. One of the legislators came out while all 500 homeschoolers were in the rotunda, and asked if he could speak. He told everyone how great his pie was, thanked them, and he thought the pie he got was probably better than anyone else’s pie!” ~ Attendee
A total of 86 pies were brought to the Capitol and delivered to
- The Governor & Lt. Governor
- Every Senator
- The House of Representatives Education Committee
- The leadership in the House of Representatives
- And the Senate Security Guards
