During each year’s legislative session, we must be vigilant to stand for righteousness. And we do this through calls, emails, personal visits with legislators, and testimonies at hearings.

• A small price to pay for maintaining the freedoms and safeguards provided by our Founding Fathers through the U.S. and State Constitutions …
  but a price, non-the-less.
• Freedom isn’t free! “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it.” (Thomas Paine)

• Use the alerts sent out by Christian Heritage, CHN, HSLDA, and others as teaching tools for the why, when, & how of citizen participation … as your children sit by your side & walk with you through the process as explained above.
• Participate in the Christian Heritage-Christian Homeschool Network (CHN) “Homeschool Day at the Capitol” on Wednesday, February 8th, 2012.
• And make it a daily practice in your home to pray for those in authority in our state & nation.

First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

“The 2012 Washington Legislative Session Begins Monday, January 9. Many bills have already been pre-filed for the 2012 legislative year, and we are already tracking several of them.

One of those bills [House Bill 2193] is a “third party visitation bill” that would allow:

• Any person who “has established an ongoing and substantial relationship with the child”

• to petition the court to allow them to have visitation rights with that child—even if the parents object.”
