Neil Craig

Mr. Craig has the unique gift of being able to teach and inspire in a most enjoyable fashion! Past Chorale participants have been thrilled at what they learned in a few short hours together and at the fun they had in learning it. Washington homeschooled students & graduates are especially privileged to be able to participate in the Chorale and learn from this superb musician, arranger, instructor, and director.

Neil and Mary have homeschooled their five children (21-34) since 1982. Neil has wide and varied professional musical experience, including ten years as arranger/accompanist and Director of Music at Back to the Bible Broadcast. The Craig family then worked with Russian orphans for 7 years, living in Moscow, Russia and Indianapolis, IN. The family now lives in Spokane, WA where Neil teaches piano and serves as Executive Director of Christian Heritage Home Educators of Washington. He also works with Behemoth.com, provider of downloadable excellent, family friendly media. In addition, the Craig family created & operate Family Music Service, providing downloadable hymn accompaniments and instruction in 4-part hymn singing. And, as you might guess, they love to sing and play their musical instruments together as a family!

4 – support group support sessions

by Dick Karman of Oregon’s OCEANetwork

Friday & Saturday Workshops ~ For Leaders, Members, & Others Interested

  • The Role of the Support Group in Family Discipleship
The secret ingredient that lies at the heart of homeschool success also lies in the foundation of the modern day support group: Home education isn’t a method of academic achievement; it is a way of life. If you wonder what role a support group might play in your homeschooling success, bring your notebook and your shock absorbers. Success isn’t measured by the stock market or popularity ratings. For the Christian homeschooling parent, it is measured by progress toward God’s design for your family.
  • Tools for Christian Support Group Leadership
Dick Karman shares wisdom from his 25 years of experience as a state and national homeschool leader. Whether you are just starting, carrying on, or picking up the pieces from a struggling support group, Dick provides helpful tools for ministering to local homeschoolers: setting goals; planning your year, measuring progress; establishing qualified leadership and effective leadership transfer, and more. Come and gain valuable insight into the pitfalls and the blessings of Biblical leadership in the homeschool community.

Dick Karman

Dick & Dorothy Karman, parents of two and grandparents of four homeschooled grandsons, have been state and national homeschooling leaders for the past 25 years. They serve on the boards of OCEANetwork (the Oregon state Christian homeschool organization) and the National Alliance for Christian Home Education Leaders, speak at conferences across the country, and minister selflessly to the homeschooling community. Dick & Dorothy and the OCEAN board have been a continual help and support to Christian Heritage since its founding, and the Karmans, with their son Rob, have served as our on-site recording and duplication directors at each annual conference and at other CH events.
