FRIDAY VENDOR WORKSHOPS ~ 12:00-12:45
- Friday-Auditorium B: Beginnings Publishing House, Inc.
Hands-On Science for Grades 7-12!
Where can I find a technically sound science curriculum that is Creation-based, designed for home-schoolers, that will interest, amuse and motivate my students and enable them to do science independently? Where can I find labs that include everything and that will fit into our busy schedule? Come and hear about The Rainbow™ (for junior high) and The Spectrum™ (for high school)! Written by Dr. Durell Dobbins, father of five home-schooled children.
- Friday-Room D: Family Academy
Come learn about Family Academy, a non-denominational organization dedicated to helping homeschooling families train their children in faith, character, and academic excellence. Since the early 1980’s; we have been fulfilling this mission through our training for parents, Christian teachers, and students. We have developed a unique collaborative approach to the learning process, graduating 130+ students each year to fulfill their godly destiny, many with full scholarships, many who go into ministry and Kingdom-building work.
Instructor: Candice Childs
- Friday-Room E: The HomeScholar
High School Testing
Lee Binz will discuss the common high school tests that are part of preparing for college. She will cover high school level tests, including the SAT, PSAT, ACT, PLAN, and SAT II Subject Tests. She will also discuss college level tests like the CLEP and AP exams. You will learn the differences, similarities, relative costs, preparation strategies, and how the tests can save you money now and in the future.
Instructor: Lee Binz
SATURDAY VENDOR WORKSHOPS ~ 11:30-12:15
- Saturday-Auditorium B: Mission Aviation Training Academy
The Need For and the Needs of Mission Aviation
This workshop helps listeners understand the pivotal role of mission aviation in taking the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth. In many remote areas, only aircraft can meet the transportation needs of missionaries. Appropriate aircraft and qualified pilots and maintenance technicians are needed to continue this vital ministry. Future requirements and challenges are addressed, and Mission Aviation Training Academy (MATA) is introduced, a flight school focused on helping train aspiring missionary pilots. Instructor: Gary Elliott
- Saturday-Room D: Gospel for Asia
Instilling a heart for people/missions in your family and children.
Does your family have a heart for those around them let alone those around the world? The Lord wants us to have the same heart for those whom Christ died for that He does. How can we walk in love towards each other and not be so inwardly focused? Thru this workshop we seek to help Believers lead their families to live for what is eternal and lasting in life.
Instructor: Teri Psarris
- Saturday-Room E: Excellence in Writing
Reaching the Reluctant Writer
When you assign a simple writing assignment do you get groans and whines of “I just can’t, Mom! I don’t know what to write!” Come and discover a checklist method of teaching writing that provides the student with a clear model of what the finished product should contain and gives you an objective method of evaluating their work. Finding that you can use this program with any grade student, you will come away from this workshop saying, “Yes, I can teach writing!”
Instructor: Becky Develle
