Keynote Speakers:
James & Stacy McDonald
James & Stacy are the parents of ten children, ages 2-23. James is a pastor in Peoria, Illinois and the publisher of Homeschooling Today® and Family Reformation® magazines. He graduated from the University of Idaho and has done post-graduate work in business, marketing, and biblical studies. Stacy is the author of the life changing book, Raising Maidens of Virtue. Together, their mission is to encourage the reformation of the family through homeschooling and the church. (See more at www.familyreformation.com)
James McDonald
- Keynote: Homeschooling – The Catalyst for Family Reformation
There are many goals people have when they consider homeschooling, but perhaps the most unexpected result of this decision is the impact it has on the spiritual temperature of the family. Find out how reforming our families can promote reformation in the Church today. With sincerity and humor James McDonald shares testimony of his own family’s journey through “family reformation.” - Keynote: Cathedral Building – Developing a Multi-Generational Vision
We live in a day when building cathedrals is a thing of the past—now we set up church in strip malls or warehouses. Those who spent their lives building cathedrals had a vision toward future generations. We selfishly build for the moment. Similarly, we do not consider how our actions today are impacting the future of our children and our children’s children. What would we change if we had the same generational vision as the cathedral builder? How would we live? What would we teach our children? Join James as he compares the process, faithfulness and labor of constructing a cathedral with building a legacy of faithful sons and daughters. - Passing the Scepter – What We Should Really Teach Our Sons
We can all agree that reading, writing, and ‘rithmetic are very important to homeschooling success. But, is an academic concentration the focus that will really shape leaders for the future? Based on the Book of Proverbs, this workshop centers on the lessons of a father to his son and relates these ancient sayings to today’s young men. - The Heart of the Matter – Guiding Our Children into Pure Marriages
Modern dating provides our children and young adults with lessons in “breaking up” (practice for divorce) and emotional heartache rather than how to form solid relationships and permanent biblical commitments. Parents, especially fathers, are generally kept out of the loop and, consequently, covenantal fences of protection are gone as well. Scriptural principles for parental involvement and marital training are examined while parents and their children discuss ways to apply them in their own homes. A question and answer session on purity, dating, courtship, and betrothal, moderated by James and Stacy McDonald - Counting the Cost of Giving Up – Help & Hope for the Fearful or Frustrated Homeschooler
In public school, it is the student who drops out. In homeschool it is often the parents. Those of us in the trenches know that homeschooling is not always easy. Join James as he explores the reasons why families choose to homeschool and the reasons why some give up. This is a must for frustrated parents – or those wishing to support other homeschooling families. - Family Worship – The Key to Family Contentment
Discover the wonder and joy of family worship. Over the ages, this time-tested family institution has been all but forgotten by an individualistic society in bondage to the daily grind. James McDonald shares the history and blessings of a healthy family worship time. Practical steps and resources are available. - The Invisible Cord – God’s Hand in History
Since the dawn of time God’s hand has been writing the story of history. We often fail to see it, but He has been directing the steps of mankind since the beginning. In 50 minutes, James McDonald takes you on an exciting ride through the past, revealing how God has worked, often behind the scenes, to build His church and His people. - The Shadow of His Wings – How to Support Your Homeschooling Wife
Using the analogy of the Lord sheltering His children under the shadow of His wings, James McDonald lists ways a homeschooling husband must lead and shelter his wife. Often, the burden of teaching falls on the mother. The way her husband protects, nourishes, and supports her can be the difference between success and failure. For Men Only
Stacy McDonald
- A Crown for Him: Teaching Our Daughters the Importance of Biblical Beauty & Etiquette
From television and magazines to billboards on our highways, our daughters are bombarded with immodest pictures and sensual images of what the world calls beauty. But how close to the biblical view is its message? What does the Bible say about beauty and etiquette? Is it glitz and glamour? Is it gloomy and plain? Let us rediscover biblical loveliness and discuss how our appearance and demeanor can bring glory to God. A must for those who are homeschooling daughters. - A Future for Your Daughter – Growing a Homeschooling Heritage
Why is the world so amazed to find Christian homeschooling mothers and wives joyful and content at home? We are told that in order to be truly fulfilled, we must have successful careers outside the home. Is this the truth? How could this affect future generations? How could the perverted definition of family destroy our chances of seeing our children’s children raised up in godly homeschooling families? Before we have to ask “How did this happen,” let us ask “How can we keep this from happening?” - As Unto the Lord ~ Biblically Supporting Our Husbands
Humble, quiet, submissive…these are all qualities that are generally regarded as weaknesses. Scripture, on the other hand, teaches that these are signs of great strength and power. Just as our Lord submitted Himself to His Father and the governing authorities, wives are instructed to demonstrate their willingness to support their husbands by supporting and respecting their leadership.

Voddie Baucham is one of the most sought-after preachers of his generation. (See more at www.voddiebaucham.org)
- Opening Keynote: Getting Your House in Order
In his opening message, Voddie examines Moses’ mandate in Deuteronomy Six and applies it to the contemporary cultural crisis. Conclusion: The Bible is not silent on how we raise our children. - The Centrality of the Home in the Evangelism & Discipleship of the Next Generation
We are losing 75-88% of professing Christian kids by the end of their freshman year in college. In this message, Dr. Baucham explains why, and what the Bible has to say about stemming the tide and why mom and dad are the key to keeping them in the faith. - Mending Fences
Most teens have strained relationships with their parents. This session is designed to illustrate the necessity and availability of intimate personal discipling relationships between teens and their parents. - Family Night Keynote: Multi-Generational Promise
What does Jeremiah 29 mean? If God really plans to prosper us and not harm us, why are so many kids going bad? Perhaps we don’t understand the promise. - Why I Choose to Believe the Bible
Voddie teaches us why we can know, beyond doubt, that the Bible is true, authoritative, and historically correct, start to finish. And he gives us a valuable tool for explaining this to others even the most convinced skeptics. - Why Homeschool? An Apologetic for Home Education
Moms are not qualified to teach higher math; children will miss out on socialization; our kids will not be ‘Salt and Light’ in the world… These and other objections are all too common to homeschool families. However, what does the Bible say? Is the text silent on the issue of education? Or has God actually given us biblical principles to follow. In this session, Voddie Baucham will make a biblical argument for home education. - Closing Keynote: How to Disciple Your Children ~ Raising Kids Who Walk with God
Most Christian parents, if they are honest, haven’t a clue as to how to disciple the children God has entrusted to them. Thankfully, the Bible gives clear instructions.
